Description
This classic German chocolate cake frosting combines rich condensed milk, coconut, pecans, and egg yolks for a thick, gooey custard that elevates any cake.
Ingredients
1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
1/2 cup unsalted butter
3 large egg yolks
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups shredded sweetened coconut
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. In a saucepan over medium heat, combine condensed milk, butter, and egg yolks.
2. Stir constantly until mixture thickens (8–10 minutes).

3. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla, coconut, and pecans.
4. Let cool to room temperature before using.
Notes
Stir constantly to avoid curdling.
For a nuttier flavor, toast the pecans first.
Use this filling in cakes, cupcakes, or brownies.
